I’m thrilled to have won first place in the Leslie Garrett Knoxville Writers Guild Short Fiction Contest. Two days before I received the news, my story “Milk House Water” was also accepted for publication in the Chaffin Journal. Don’t we all need affirmations like that from time to time.
Congratulations on your award. I’m so proud of you my dear friend. Wouldn’t your Dad love that his little girl is “fine..just fine.” Thank you for sharing. Love to Rory, too.
Wonderful story; wonderful voice; wonderful woman.
I continue to be overwhelmed by you thoughtfulness, sensitivity and scope; a person I did not know in college has become close to my heart.
Mom, you are so naturally gifted, yet you work so hard on your craft. Here, time and talent mix with beautiful results. Your voice is soothing to all, not just your adoring family.
Such a vivid story, Rita. Congratulations and keep up the writing of life.
Wow, Rita! You certainly are a gifted writer. I felt I was there, on the farm, as you read the story. And now I want to know “what happened next?” Keep writing.
